Great weekend !!

Heeeeehaaaa......!! I'm back !! Miss my entries ?? No ?

Anywayz, I had a great weekend this week. Spent my Saturday with Carina, Braden & Matthew and Sunday with my Grandpa.

On Saturday, we were supposed to watch "The Tales of the 2 Sisters" (Korean horror flick) at 6:50pm. But I guess Singaporeans' best entertainment is watching movies esp. in small cinemas like GV Marina. So we could only get tix for the 9:20pm slot and the third row from the screen, which din turn out that bad.

Before the show, we went to Kenny Rogers for dinner. And itz my first time wasting so much food - Bitz of potato salad, mashed potato and a muffin. Something's wrong with my stomach lately. It can't accept much food and even rejected some.....weird. But I tink itz a good thing.... I can eat lesser and hopefully slim down faster.

After dinner, we happened to passby some area with a dance competition going on. A group of kidz can dance really well. Like that performance the most. Contestants after that group....I shall say they're pretty OK....so-so....

Next to the movie theatre. "The Tales of the 2 Sisters" is a so-so movie. Not that horrifying although I was pretty scared at a few pointz. This movie is quite long-winded n confusing. I only figured out what the movie is really about at the end of it and hoping that I interpreted it correctly.

The movie ended at about 11:30pm. Matthew thought that the night is still young and suggested to go to the Devil's Bar @ Orchard Parade Hotel. We went, had fun grooving to the nice loud music and sipping Vodka Lime from a jug. But my eyes were "blinded" by the lighting effects there. Not used to it but it made pretty cool "dance movement freeze" effects. Not sure if u got what I m trying to mean ?? Anyway, it'z thumbs up for their drinks and music. Oh well, itz not like I'm into S'pore's clubbing scene well enough to comment or judge. Heh. Partying ended at 115am.

Then itz rise n shine at 12pm on Sunday. Had arranged a baking lesson with Grandpa on this day. Actually, I juz wanted to learn his recipe for Lemon Jam but since I got a craving for his Lemon Sponge cake, I asked him to teach me both. This is my first lesson and there will be more coming up for sure. Grandpa is such a great chef with lotsa self-invented recipes under his apron. But sad to say he doesn't write down his recipes, itz all in his mind. Sigh.

I have to say, Grandpa is really a good teacher. Knowing that I'm an amateur, he illustrated the steps slowly and made sure I understood his words before going on. He even let me try to do every step myself once.

Luckily I managed to converse pretty well with him with my broken Hainanese. My understanding of Hainanese is limited too. If he speaks a lil' faster, my 'sotong' face will resurface. I wish I'm more proficient in Hainanese so to communicate better with Grandpa and learn more from him. Sigh.

This first attempt of baking a Lemon Sponge cake, I've got my family, Carina, Braden and Jinde to be my guinea pigs. Haha. They have yet to taste the cake, so do I. Let's juz wait till few hours later for my family to have their Lemon Sponge cake breakfast. As for Carina, Braden and Jinde, I'll meet them up in the evening. Maybe the cake will be their dessert.

I'm pretty confident with my attempt afterall I have a great teacher !! Plus he did 60% of the stuff. Heh. *Fingers still crossed*
